    Do you have a young writer at home? In this class, kids will learn the basics of plotting and character development from local author Samantha Seestrom. Students will be provided with tools to create their own stories!
  • MHS Monti Arts Club

    MHS MontiArts art club is for 9-12th grade students who attend Monticello High School. It is for students who are looking to create and learn various forms of art while in the company of peers. Students are encouraged to bring anything they are working on with many supplies available from MontiArts. (montiarts.com) There will be a variety of optional projects throughout the year (mural projects, card making, glow parade, etc) This activity takes place at the MontiArts building (349 W Broadway) in downtown Monticello. Bus transportation may or may not be available via High School Bus #75 which may at times be too full to drop students at art club on certain days. Students are encouraged to drive or find rides if possible/able.   • Middle School Trap Shooting

    Beginner level trapshooting. For students currently enrolled in Monticello schools grades 7 & 8. This course will cover: basic technique, trap rules, scoring and edict. No experience necessary. It will be held at the Monticello Sportsmans Club, 7959 MN-25, Monticello MN. Tuesdays at 4:30pm from April 23 – May 21. April 23 is a mandatory safety briefing you must attend. The cost will be $150 & this will include instruction, trap rounds and 12 gauge ammo. Students must use program supplied ammo. Students will need to provide a 12 gauge shot gun that fits them. Closed toe shoes(no crocs), eye protection, ear protection (foam, not muffs), and a trap pouch or vest. If you don't have a trap pouch or vest, borrow one from someone you know or try our options on night 1 and then purchase one before night 2. Come dressed for the weather, this is an outdoor class. Students must have a completed a firearms safety certificate prior to signing up.

  • My Little Horse Day Camp for Ages 2-5 with Parent

    Boulder Pointe Equestrian Enjoy the excitement of horseback riding camp! Come ride and learn about horses. Lessons include learning how to work with horse and learn balance and control in the saddle. In addition, campers get to learn how to groom, tack-up, lead and do in-hand work with horses. There is also fun horse related activities. Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended. Please bring a nut-free bagged lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are provided. Signed waivers are required before riding. My Little Horse Day Camp for Ages 2-5 with Parent The kids will get to ride a real horse, meet & learn about the different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! All participants will receive an NFL identified reversible jersey and official NFL FLAG football belt and flag. In accordance with official NFL FLAG football rules and regulations, all participants must wear a mouth guard and sign a waiver form. Football or soccer cleats are encouraged, however metal baseball cleats are not allowed. Teams are made at random. However, if your son or daughter would like to be on the same team as a friend, please indicate in the notes. VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE NEEDED! Please consider helping out with your child’s team, especially at the 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th grade teams. Whether it's your first piano lesson or you have been playing for a while, this will be a great way to develop your piano and musical skills! Mr. G is one of three choir directors at MHS and MMS.     Pool Pizza & Movie Gr. 1-6

    Come enjoy a night out with friends! First, a swim in the pool including water games and open swim, followed by pizza in the commons. After the pizza you are off to the auditorium for a movie. Water will be provided. All movies are rated G or PG. Parents, please drop your kids off at the pool and pick up in the commons area. Preregistration is required. No walk-in registration's allowed. Note Pricing Changes: Community Education is using a sliding scale model for program fees so our school year aquatics programs can be financially sustainable and more equitable. Families are asked to pick the price that they are able to pay. By more clearly articulating our lower cost options, we have removed the barrier that some may have felt in making scholarship requests. When families participate at the higher price levels, they help make the program more sustainable.

    Pre-School T-Ball--Ages 4 & 5

    Pre-School T-Ball--Ages 4 & 5 Come learn to play like the big leaguers! This 6-week activity will introduce preschoolers (must be 4 by June 10) to the game of T-ball and baseball using nerf bats and soft incrediballs. Games will rotate each week between 6 p.m. & 7 p.m. Each game will last approximately 50 minutes. Parent or adult volunteers will be needed to head coach and assistant coach this program. Parents are highly encourage to help coach your child's team. Players need to bring a glove, all other equipment will be provided. Please email brendan.labau@monticello.k12.mn.us with any questions regarding this program. Registration deadline is May 8th. Price Increased to Include-- a digital team picture and digital individual picture from Hines Photography. Picture day will be June 17th with no makeup day. If we have inclement weather, pictures will be inside the High School.

    Summer Preschool Program

    Your child is invited to join Ms. Alysha and Ms. Kris for five weeks this summer to help your child get ready for Kindergarten at Eastview. The goal of Summer Preschool is to provide extra support for students with a focus on Kindergarten readiness in social-emotional and academic skills. Summer Preschool is July 8 - Aug. 8, 2024, Monday - Thursday from 8:30a.m. - 3:00p.m. Snack will be provided. Please note: You will need to provide a cold lunch for your child, as well as transportation for your child. Parent Drop-off (8:15-8:30a.m.) and Pick-up (3:00 - 3:15p.m.) will take place in the back parking lot and students will enter in Door 5. There is no bus transportation provided. Also, students need to be fully toilet trained and 4 by Sept. 1, 2023. You can pay either in full at $699.00 or choose to pay in three payments with a $199.00 deposit and 2 payments of $250.00.     Tennis for Youth- Gr. 3-5 (2022/2023 school year) These classes are designed to help the child learn the basic fundamentals and rules of tennis. Grip, stance, forehand, backhand and serve will be covered during the class. Overheads and volleys at the net will also be introduced. Lessons are given at Monticello High School Tennis Courts.     Week Long Horse Camp for ages 6-18

    Boulder Pointe Equestrian WEEK-LONG DAY CAMP (Ages 6-15) TIME: Drop-off is at 9am and pickup is 3pm each day Monday through Friday. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. However there is a “show” for the parents Fridays of weeklong camps at 1:30pm! This is a great time to take pictures, watch your child ride and meet their horse they worked during the week. WHAT TO EXPECT: Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and care for them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. At the end of the week, parents and family are invited to a performance to see what their camper has been learning! Please note that riding takes up about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? ● Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside/outside of the barn. ● No flip flops. ● Sunscreen/hat/bug spray ● Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch ● Treats for the horses if you want ● Helmets are provided.     ZEBCO School of Fish Class Description: School of Fish is a 2 1/2-hour kids fishing class open to kids (and adults!) from grades 3 and up taught by pro angler and fishing TV show host Mike Frisch. Students learn about lakes, finding fish in those lakes, and some great ways to catch them. They also learn to tie a fishing knot and rig and use a slip-bobber setup. Class cost is $59/pupil.
