  • 2024 Advanced Spring Gymnastics -- Gr. 6-12

    These sessions are for gymnasts grades 6-12 interested in working advanced and intermediate skills. The focus is to train required skills necessary to compete at the high school level. ● Register through community education. Refer to class numbers when registering. ● Payment must be in full for each session. Make up sessions must be discussed with the coaches. ● You are welcome to sign up for 1 or all of the sessions. ● JAGS team kids should not substitute these classes with their team practices. ● Sessions will be held in the Monticello High School Gymnastics Gym ● Classes run by Emily Schumacher

    Boys & Girls Gymnastics: Beginners ages 5-7

    Beginner skills include warm-up activities, stretching, rolls, bridges, back walkovers, pop-ups, pullover, casts, beam introduction, cardio and strength endurance. Instructor will test student when student shows consistency in classes and demonstrates good listening skill, positive attitude and the necessary physical strength to join Pre-team. Suggested apparel: leotards for girls; shorts & t-shirts for boys. Students need to be 5 by the start of class.

    Boys Club Volleyball Grades 6-12 Do you like to play volleyball or want to learn more about it? Join us at Club Volleyball and improve your skills! We will practice and scrimmage against each other and other local volleyball players as we gain confidence and experience in our game! Club Volleyball is open to all area athletes not just Big Lake & Monticello students.   • Build A Bear Workshop After School Grades K-5

    Have fun with your friends after school at the Build A Bear Workshop. This DIY Teddy Bear Workshop is the perfect hands-on activity and entertainment for your kiddo. Each student will get a stuffy of their choice. We will stuff our furry friends, place a star wish inside, zip and lock it closed then complete a birth certificate. Comes with a tote bag to bring your furry friend home. Furry options: Teddy Bear, Horse, Puppy, Bunny, Owl Be sure to register for your child's school. Kids will go straight to the classroom after school. You will need to check in at the office to pick up after the workshop.

    CLASS DESCRIPTION: Come and learn how Cotton Candy is made WITH and WITHOUT a machine. In this class we will be learning how Cotton Candy is made by heating and spinning flavored sugar and Jolly Ranchers. We will also be playing games for fun prizes like a CARNIVAL and EVERY child will go home with Cotton Candy and Prizes. Come and have some fun with your friends and enjoy the CARNIVAL.

    Drivers Education Classes and Behind the Wheel Training

    This complete Drivers Education program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Behind-the-wheel instruction will be scheduled individually and directly with Wreck-Less Driving Academy. Students must attend all 30 hours. Any missed classes must be made up in future sessions (at any Wreck-Less location). Students will receive a completion certificate once all 30 hours are complete. Eligible Students must be 14 1/2 years old before the first day of class. You will receive a welcome email with additional registration instructions from Wreck-Less 10 days before class begins. Contact wreck-less if you do not get the email. For Online Classes: Students MUST have the ability to print curriculum before class begins and the technology to attend class via Zoom with a camera and microphone. Parents and students will receive a welcome letter, Zoom information, curriculum and additional registration materials via email before class begins. Registration is not considered complete until required forms are received in the Wreck-Less office. Parents will need to provide a current email address and contact phone number upon registration. The material is presented in fun and exciting formats to keep the child interested and excited while teaching them important physical and behavioral skills to develop good habits early in life.   • Firearms Safety Training Program

    Firearms Safety Training Program The Monticello Rod and Gun Club will be offering a Firearms Safety Training Program for students and adults. Students and a parent or guardian should plan on attending registration and a short meeting on Monday, April 15th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Classes will be held on April 16, 18, 22, 23 & 25 from 7-9 p.m. in the Monticello Media Center. Students will meet at the Monticello Rod and Gun Club on Saturday, April 20th from 8:30-noon for range day. Boys, girls and adults are welcome. You must be at least 11 years old. DO NOT bring firearms to class. New DNR Info: You do not have to bring a fee or stamped envelope to class anymore as it is done electronically after you pass the course (you’ll receive the address in class). If you cannot attend ALL the sessions, you should wait until the spring class. You must attend all scheduled dates! No make-up sessions will be available. No pre-registration necessary!--This is just an advertisement, you do not have to register.

    Horseback Riding Day Camp, Ages 6-17

    Boulder Pointe Equestrian Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended. Please bring a nut-free bagged lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are provided. Signed waivers are required before riding. Riding Day Camp Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas, practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk, trot, and canter (depending on camper's riding experience). They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to feed and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders!
