    3 Day Horse Day Camp-Ages 6-17

    Boulder Pointe Equestrian 3 DAY LONG DAY CAMP (Ages 6-15) TIME: PARENT Drop-off is at 9am and PARENT pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. WHAT TO EXPECT: Experience a mini-week long camp! Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and feed them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Please note that riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? ● Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. ● No flip flops. ● Sunscreen/hat/bug spray ● Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch ● Treats for the horses if you want ● Helmets are provided.     It's Independence Day! Come and celebrate this holiday with your friends and decorate some 4th of July themed cookies. At the end of this class you will bring home some beautifully decorated cookies for your family!! Yum!! A fun class activity is also planned while the cookies are drying.
  • AeroCode Academy - Grades 3-8

    AeroCode Academy is the most exciting way for students to learn how to program! Using block based programming tools to command their drones, students will sharpen their skills and take to the skies. By starting out with guided tutorials, students of all skill levels will find success before implementing their own custom programs. Teams of students will battle their drones in fun and exciting challenges that will teach them valuable 21st century programming skills, as well as teamwork and collaboration. Students can choose to bring their drone home for an additional cost ($215 value)
  • Anime Camp - Ages 7 and up

    Learn to draw and color your favorite Anime characters! Discover how to evoke humor through exaggeration, study basic facial anatomy and proportions, and take a detailed look at facial expressions. We’ll discuss how eyes can drastically define a character, how to draw a variety of hairstyles, practice coloring techniques, and more!
  • Babysitting 101 – Age 11 & up

    Babysitting 101 – Age 11 & up This course follows the American Academy of Pediatrics – Babysitter Lessons And Safety Training (BLAST). Students learn current practices for safety and injury prevention, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants, how to handle behavior problems, and how to manage their babysitting business. Students receive a reference book, recipe and game handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit. Please bring a lunch.
  • Battle Drones- Grades 3-8

    Battle Drones features an exciting combination of aerial acrobatics with an engineering design challenge that will teach students STEM concepts, teamwork, and how to skillfully fly a drone. In Battle Drones, teams of students will build robotic launchers designed to fling projectiles at their opponents’ drones. Students will be guided by experienced camp instructors in how to construct their launchers to maximize projectile speed and accuracy. The camp will culminate in an epic battle where students will need to pilot their drones to safety by dodging opponent projectiles while using their own launchers to take down opponent drones. The best drone pilots and launchers will emerge victorious! Students can choose to bring their drone home for an additional cost (~$100 value)

    Let's make a beautiful mosaic design on canvas using beans! This is a fun project that will bring out your child's creative side. Evie Lamb is a class of 2024 graduate from Monticello. She has always enjoyed art and has had many pieces of her art on display in the school district art shows.
  • COTTON CANDY MAKING - Grades K-8

    CLASS DESCRIPTION: Come and learn how Cotton Candy is made WITH and WITHOUT a machine. In this class we will be learning how Cotton Candy is made by heating and spinning flavored sugar and Jolly Ranchers. We will also be playing games for fun prizes like a CARNIVAL and EVERY child will go home with Cotton Candy and Prizes. Come and have some fun with your friends and enjoy the CARNIVAL.

    CUPCAKES IN A JAR are a fun make-ahead dessert made with layers of cake, frosting, fruit filling, sprinkles and more. You will use your creativity to make up your own beautifully layered jars with all the flavors of cake, frosting and other fillings that you enjoy. They’re deliciously simple and perfect for any party or celebration. Come enjoy this creative cooking time with friends!!
  • College Essay Essentials

    Seniors who are applying to selective colleges, private colleges or specialized programs or scholarships will need to write an essay (or multiple essays). Seniors who delay this task until closer to application due dates often find this process rushed and stressful, undermining the quality of their essays—and their application. This session will teach the essential elements of the college essay and how to approach a variety of common essay prompts. Through fun brainstorming activities, students will walk out of the session motivated to continue working on their essay drafts before the start of their busy senior year. Target Audience: Rising seniors motivated to get a head start on their college applications and essays. Instructor: Shelly Hughes is a licensed School Counselor in the state of MN, holding a master's degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling from the University of MN. In her career spanning over 25 years, Shelly has worked in higher education, private and secondary settings, providing guidance to students with academic, college and career planning. Ms. Hughes has specialized interest and experience in supporting students with mental health concerns, disabilities and executive function challenges and understands how these factors impact post-secondary planning. The mother of three teens/young adults, Ms. Hughes has navigated the high school/college years from the perspective of a parent as well as an educator.

    Come join us and learn how to create your own comic strip! We will learn how to design characters, take a closer look at facial expressions, and create your own comics! Inspiration will be taken from famous cartoon comic strips like Peanuts, Mutts, and Calvin & Hobbes.
  • Common App Boot Camp

    Seniors planning to apply to multiple colleges, especially if their list includes private or selective colleges, will likely use a program called Common App. This session will walk students through the program and terminology so they can be confident they are making the correct selections. Students will learn to use Common App tools to research college application options and deadlines and begin building their personal application-planning timeline. During this session, students will create their Common App accounts and should bring a charged laptop (or Chromebook) along with a list of potential colleges. (Note: Students are not expected to have a finalized list of college options, nor will they be submitting any applications during this session). Target Audience: Rising Seniors who intend to apply to multiple colleges.   • Do your own Henna with Evie - Ages 11 and Up

    Have you ever wanted to learn how to do your own henna? This class is for you. Evie will show you how to create some beautiful designs. You will get to do your own henna on your hands, arms or feet. All of the supplies will be provided. Make sure you wear a short sleeve shirt and remember that henna is a dye. The design will last up to 3 weeks on the skin. Dress for a mess! Evie Lamb is a class of 2024 graduate from Monticello.     Drivers Education Classes and Behind the Wheel Training

    This complete Drivers Education program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel training. Behind-the-wheel instruction will be scheduled individually and directly with Wreck-Less Driving Academy. Students must attend all 30 hours. Any missed classes must be made up in future sessions (at any Wreck-Less location). Students will receive a completion certificate once all 30 hours are complete. Eligible Students must be 14 1/2 years old before the first day of class. You will receive a welcome email with additional registration instructions from Wreck-Less 10 days before class begins. Contact wreck-less if you do not get the email. For Online Classes: Students MUST have the ability to print curriculum before class begins and the technology to attend class via Zoom with a camera and microphone. Parents and students will receive a welcome letter, Zoom information, curriculum and additional registration materials via email before class begins. Registration is not considered complete until required forms are received in the Wreck-Less office. Parents will need to provide a current email address and contact phone number upon registration.     Students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. Once they learn the basics of flying, they’ll assemble their very own drone which they’ll get to keep after the camp. After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take their drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot their drones and keep them running. The drones used in camps have cameras, and are perfect for entry level pilots. Students can choose to bring their drone home for an additional cost (~$100 value)

    Eureka Engineering introduces students to the core skills of robotics and STEM through engaging, hands-on learning opportunities. Student groups will work with Lego Mindstorm kits, which include both electrical and mechanical components. The small groups will be mentored by experienced and passionate instructors. Parents are welcome to watch their child’s robotic creations come to life in exciting and competitive challenges including drag racing, fighting robots and more!   • F.A.S.T. KIDS – Ages 7-10 Staying Safe While Home Alone

    First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for 7 – 10 year olds. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, personal safety and healthy living. This course helps prepare children for staying at home alone. Students will receive a book and construct a home first aid kit as part of the class. Please bring a drink and snack.

    Dive into the world of Harry Potter in this fun and creative camp! Draw your favorite characters using a variety of art materials and create your very own wand — all while listening to Harry Potter on audiobook! We will learn the fundamentals of drawing through close observation, discuss basic drawing techniques, learn how to layer with color, practice, and have fun!
