Hey, what do you call friends who like math?
Alge-bruhs!Building a solid foundation of multiplication fact fluency doesn't have to be boring and full of flashcards. Come join me at NWTA to make math friends and get ready for more challenging math in future years. It will be a week of card and dice games, physical competition, digital games and tricks to fluently fly through your facts. We will also take time each day to build growth mindset through individual and team based challenge builds and logic puzzles. I can't wait to see you this summer at NWTA!
My name is Brenna Lavalier-Kortenkamp (Mrs. Lava-kamp) and I am a fourth grade teacher at Independence Elementary STEM in the Big Lake School District. I attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in Elementary and Middle Level Education, Grades 1-8, with a minor in Broadfield Social Studies. I completed my Masters degree in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary’s University. During my nineteen years of teaching, I have taught third, fourth and fifth grades and spent a year as an intervention specialist. I also had the opportunity to coach the middle school math team at Prairie View Elementary in Elk River School District for five years.
