Amazing Authors!-Gr. 4-8

Northwest Talent Academy -
NWTA 2024

Write your own book!

Through the study of picture book story elements, we will identify and analyze the characters, plot, conflict and setting of a wide selection of much-loved folk and fairy tales. We will then manipulate those story elements to create our own fractured versions of classic stories. We will learn how authors make their writing come alive for readers by showing versus telling and using sensory details. The week will end with an author’s celebration of our original stories!
