Nature is a work of art, and in this class we will take a close-up look at the designs of some of the world's most beautiful plants: succulents! We will investigate the unique characteristics that allow these varieties to thrive in various climates around the world and we'll learn about the benefits they provide for the earth and organisms around them. Each day we will celebrate both science and art as we inspect, observe and create together. As a final project, each student will design and plant a succulent garden to take home and enjoy in their own environment.
My name is Nancy Kopff, and I currently teach 3rd Grade at Maple Lake Elementary. In the past I have taught middle school science and once worked as a writer for a local newspaper. I love traveling, hiking, kayaking and biking because all of these bring me to new and beautiful places where I can do what I love most of all, photography! When at home, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, baking and decorating.
