The wonders are endless, the beauty profound, and the needs are real. Let's immerse ourselves in nature together. This one or two week course (your choice) will explore different ecosystems, possibly including but not limited to, Olympic National Park, Voyageurs NP, the Great Lakes, and local ecosystems. Connection with the outdoors will be emphasized, but engineering, math, social sciences, and the English-language arts will be part of this class. We will begin with exploring an ecosystem/park, then focus on a problem that the ecosystem/park is facing.This will provide the opportunity for kids to consider real-world issues and practice solving them.
My name is Amy Weltzin, and I am an elementary school teacher in Rogers. I love the outdoors, and am passionate about helping children connect with nature. I look forward to exploring with NWTA participants this summer!
