Creative Composers-Gr 3-8

Northwest Talent Academy -
NWTA 2025

Do you want to experiment with creating your own music? This class will give you the chance to make your own beat patterns, melodies, and put it all together. We’ll start by exploring what makes us want to listen to a song again and again, from classical to pop music. We’ll look at the idea behind the music, the form, and how the composer used sound to let their idea shine through. We’ll experiment with telling a story through our own music, using hand instruments and keyboard instruments to help us work out the pitches and rhythms. There will be something for everyone, fun bursts of making music in teams, playing music games, or beginning to understand the music theory behind the music we love, and creating our own music.

Ash Bangia

Hello! My name is Ash Bangia, and I teach Music at the Eastview Education Center in Monticello. I am excited to share a love of music and ukulele this summer. I grew up in Buffalo, NY, and graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Music Education. In addition to teaching music classes at Eastview, I also teach private instrumental music lessons through Community Education. In my free time, I enjoy reading, painting, playing my instruments, walking in nature, and listening to live music. I live with my partner and an adorable bunny named Lorien, who loves getting into mischief, snuggles, and eating bananas.
