Do you want to start, continue, or refine skills that will help you be future ready? Join us as we learn all about computer science and robotics in a fun hands-on way! We will do activities both on screen and unplugged, working on our design & critical thinking skills while building our teamwork and problem solving strategies. We will link computer science and robotics with art, science, game design, and storytelling. Each student will build a bot, and create their own interactive programs with code. This course is for beginners to confident users and beyond!
I'm Megan Bateman. My mission is to empower our youth to be innovative designers and critical thinkers so that they may make meaningful and joyful contributions to our communities. I have been teaching with NWTA since the beginning, and I am excited to be back again this year! NWTA provides me with the opportunity to apply and extend the knowledge I gained while earning my master's degree in Educational Technology. In total, I have four teaching licenses that I have been able to apply to various roles and workplaces over the past twenty-five years. Currently, I serve as the Data and Intervention Specialist at a STEM school and as a high school robotics coach. In my personal life, I enjoy tinkering with new technologies, reading, listening to music, and dancing. At home, I care for two fur babies (cats), and spend time with my husband, neighbors, and friends.
