Come test your skills and resiliency with individual and team logic challenges and brain busting board and card games. We will test out and discuss problem solving strategies for overcoming obstacles and developing a growth mindset. Be ready to try your hand at cryptography, elimination puzzles, math challenges, and manipulate objects to test your visual and spatial skills. We will test out games like cribbage, Blokus, Mastermind, SET, and fast word play with GIB GAB. Come join me for a week of puzzling our way through brain perplexors and board games!
My name is Brenna Lavalier-Kortenkamp (Mrs. Lava-kamp) and I am a STEM teacher at Pinewood Elementary in the Monticello School District. I currently reside in Big Lake with my husband and three children. I attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a degree in Elementary and Middle Level Education, Grades 1-8, with a minor in Broadfield Social Studies. I completed my Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary’s University and completed a National Certificate for STEM Teaching last summer. During my twenty-plus years of teaching, I have taught second through fifth grades, spent a year as an intervention specialist and am now loving the many opportunities of collaboration, critical thinking and creativity students in STEM are able to explore.
