Stomp, stomp, stomp! Something is charging through the twisting maze…is it a monster, a hero, or a mythical god? Welcome to the thrilling world of MYTHS! From the fierce Minotaur and mighty Thor to clever Athena, powerful Ra, and the flying Pegasus, this class dives into legendary stories packed with adventure, magic, and mystery. In this hands-on class, students will explore exciting myths from Greek, Egyptian, and Norse cultures, discovering brave heroes, tricky gods, and unbelievable creatures. We won’t just read myths—we’ll create them! Students will sculpt their own mythical creature using Model Magic, decorate ancient-style pottery, design a mythology-inspired game, create a dog tag or necklace, and make an Egyptian-style name tag. The adventure continues as students take part in a scavenger hunt and riddle-filled challenge, navigating a labyrinth like Theseus, solving clues, and completing heroic tasks inspired by ancient myths. The scavenger hunt ends with a heroic snack, fit for a champion who has completed a noble quest. If you love action-packed stories, magical creatures, outdoor adventures, and getting creative with your hands, this class is your chance to build, imagine, and become a true myth-maker!
Hi! I’m Stacey Rosa, and I teach many groups, including challenge classes at Little Mountain Elementary in Monticello—where curiosity is encouraged and thinking hard is kind of the whole point. I lead literature enrichment and challenge math groups, teach phonics, and help run student council at LME (future leaders in the making!).
When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me with a good book, in the garden, crafting something messy-but-fun, hiking a trail, or learning something new just for fun. I also love traveling and playing board games with my family of five—where competition is friendly and good snacks are essential.
I’m passionate about learning new things and helping my students discover that learning can be exciting, challenging, and even a little fun (okay, a lot of fun!).
