3 Day Horse Day Camp-Ages 6-17EnrichmentBoulder Pointe Equestrian Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended. Please bring a nut-free bagged lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are provided. Signed waivers are required before riding. 3 Day Horse Day Camp Experience a mini-week long camp! Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and feed them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. This class will include discovering myths from different cultures including Greek, Egyptian, and Norse mythology. Activities will include reading myths, doing a creative project with each type of myth and writing a myth. Some projects will be creating a mythical creature, making your own game, decorating pottery, making a dog tag or necklace, and making an Egyptian name tag. Would you like to tap the Percy or Annabeth within you? Then this is the class for you. We will be making shields and will be recording our quests and challenges on them. We will learn about Greece, Heroes, Gods/Goddesses,Mythological characters and the power of mythology. Movie vs. The Book? We will take a look some sections that are different in the movie and look at it with a critical eye. Throughout the week we will write an Epic of our adventures! We will create our own Grecian sculptures and structures, channeling our artistic and engineering sides.
