    Horseback Riding Day Camp, Ages 6-17

    Boulder Pointe Equestrian DAY CAMP (Ages 6-15) TIME: PARENT Drop-off is at 9am and PARENT pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. WHAT TO EXPECT: Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? ● Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. ● No flip flops. ● Sunscreen/hat/bug spray ● Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch ● Treats for the horses if you want ● Helmets are provided. WEATHER: Camps are held rain or shine,as we have an indoor barn and arena. Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended. Please bring a nut-free bagged lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are provided. Signed waivers are required before riding.   • Hot Wheels Art - Grades 1-5

    In this class you’ll learn how to draw cool cars, inspired by Hot Wheels. Together we’ll use watercolors, paints and colored pencils to bring the cars to life! Parents of the artists are welcome to join us for the last 10 minutes of class. As every day in class we’ll host a car show to exhibit their speedy art! Come join in on the fun! Please bring a nut free snack as well as a beverage.
  • Ice Cream Science - Grades K-8

    This class is designed for youth to have FUN while learning some science concepts (inquiry based). We will be using the simplest of techniques (freezer bags and ice) - An ice cream social is planned at the end of class with lots of flavored syrups and toppings to choose from. Come and have some fun with your friends!!
  • Intro to 3D Printing & CAD - Grades 1-6

    This 3D printing camp takes students through the 3D printing process from start to finish. Students will design 3D objects using TinkerCAD and the 3D slicing program Cura to bring their creations to life. From industrial design and manufacturing to software and hardware engineering, the 3D printing industry is booming. This course is an excellent introduction to 3D printing and is ideal for students who like to draw, design, imagine, and see their creations come to life. Printing and material fees are included.     If you like playing video games, you’ll love designing them! Trained instructors will teach students how to program their own video games using an engaging program called Kodu. They will create their own world, populate it with characters, and then play the games they create during class.   • Monsters and Myths Camp - Ages 4-6

    Mythical creatures of all kinds are taught in this class for creative young minds. Stories featuring dragons, unicorns, and ogres will be read, followed by drawings and crafts inspired by the characters. We will also sing and play along to the tempo of songs from folklore using various kinds of hand percussion. Meet new friends, learn and have fun! Ages 4-6 years old. Please bring a snack and water bottle. Early developmental skills are promoted for independent learning in this camp: Multi-media drawing and crafts Encourages critical thinking Improves small motor skills Enhances attention span Group percussion instruction
  • Monticello Community Strings

    Looking for a fun orchestra to play with during the summer? The Monticello Community Strings Orchestra will meet once a week on Tuesday evenings* at the Monticello High School Orchestra/Band Room, beginning June 11. There are two different groups to choose from: Concert Orchestra (at least 1-3 years of experience needed) will meet from 6-7:15 p.m.; Symphony Orchestra (at least 4 years experience or more recommended) from 7:30-9 p.m. Symphony Orchestra players are welcome to play with the Concert Orchestra as mentors for no additional charge. An evening concert on Thursday, July 25 in the Monticello High School Auditorium will complete the season. Michelle Schettler-Stein & Rachel Vannett will conduct and lead the sessions.     My Little Horse Day Camp for Ages 2-5 with Parent

    Boulder Pointe Equestrian Enjoy the excitement of horseback riding camp! Come ride and learn about horses. Lessons include learning how to work with horse and learn balance and control in the saddle. In addition, campers get to learn how to groom, tack-up, lead and do in-hand work with horses. There is also fun horse related activities. Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended.     Boulder Pointe Equestrian MY LITTLE HORSE CAMP (Ages 2-5) TIME: 9:00am-11:00am or 12:00pm-2:00pm WHAT TO EXPECT: Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of our different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn about how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. :) PARENT/GUARDIAN: This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp. WEATHER: Camps are held rain or shine, as we have an indoor barn and arena.   • Nature Explorers Camp at Bertram - Ages 4 to 7

    Summer Camp from 9a.m. - Noon at Bertram Chain of Lakes Park offered from our wonderful Monticello Nature Based staff. Students will begin by gathering each day at the Bertram Chalet (9910 Briarwood Ave NE, Monticello, MN 55362). Enjoy adventures like birding, ecology, and outdoor fun. Gear requirements include: 1) tennis shoes or strap-heel sandals; 2) sun protection items of sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats; and 3) comfortable, weather appropriate clothing. Children will be hiking and adventuring! Please pack a water bottle. Snacks will be provided. For students ages 4-7 and need to be potty-trained to attend.
  • Navigating College Admissions: A Guide for Rising Juniors and families

    With nearly 4,000 degree-granting colleges and universities in the United States, it can feel overwhelming to identify schools that will best fit a students’ academic, social and economic needs. This session will help Rising Juniors and a family member understand the college application landscape and how to narrow down their college options so they can feel more prepared for application season next fall. Participants will walk away from the session with a College Planning Timeline and tools to manage the process. Target Audience: Rising Juniors (or highly motivated Rising Sophomores) who want to create a strategic plan to guide their college search and application process. Instructor: Shelly Hughes is a licensed School Counselor in the state of MN, holding a master's degree in Educational Psychology and Counseling from the University of MN. In her career spanning over 25 years, Shelly has worked in higher education, private and secondary settings, providing guidance to students with academic, college and career planning. Ms. Hughes has specialized interest and experience in supporting students with mental health concerns, disabilities and executive function challenges and understands how these factors impact post-secondary planning. The mother of three teens/young adults, Ms. Hughes has navigated the high school/college years from the perspective of a parent as well as an educator.

  • Paper Doll Fashion - Grades 1-5

    Calling all fashion lovers! From creating your very own paper doll to designing a closet of clothes filled with splashes of color, beautiful beads and glitter! Together we will also create a flipbook home for our dolls. How fun! Everything will be laminated with velcro patches for easy outfit changes. Come join us in on the fun!   • Pokemania STEAM Adventure- Grades 1-4

    Work on a stop-motion animated Pokémon-themed film. Pick your favorite characters to star in your mini-movie. The possibilities are endless! Students will build Pokémon-inspired sets and props to create an animated game and stop-motion short. Students will also participate in other Pokémon-related STEAM activities. Bring a USB drive on the last day. Students should have basic reading skills.
  • RC Wars- Grades 4-9

    In RC Wars, teams of students will build their own Remote Control vehicles to race and battle against other teams. Students will need to design their vehicles to not only be faster and stronger than other teams’ creations, but also better than purchased RC Cars and Drones! RC Wars will feature land and air races, obstacle courses and more as students learn mechanical and electrical building skills in an energetic and exciting environment.
