  • Basic Acrylics Class - Grades 3-5

    Learning to paint with Acrylics can be a fun experience! So come join Minnesota Artist Linda Pacel to learn the basics of Acrylics including various techniques. All supplies are included and each student will work on an 8" x 10" canvas.
  • F.A.S.T. KIDS – Staying Safe While Home Alone–Ages 7-10

    First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 6-hour course for 7 – 10 year old's. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, personal safety and healthy living. This course helps prepare children for staying at home alone. Students will receive a book and construct a home first aid kit as part of the class. Please bring a snack.
  • Make Your Own Tie Blanket-Grades 1-5

    Please join us to make a school themed tie blanket. Black, White, & Red. Go Magic! We will provide everything you need. The blankets will be double sided and 1 1/2 yards in size. Instructor: Samantha Seestrom
  • Music Lessons with Mary Kline!

    Piano and guitar lessons. Weekly 30 minute lessons. Please call Mary to set up your time for the session at 612-578-9583. In addition to class fee, instructional books will be required as determined by the teacher. These can be bought online, at the music store, or from the teacher. Normal fee is $12 - 18 for the session. Please note that no makeup lessons are offered. Your scheduled time will be forfeited if student is absent, since teacher has reserved your scheduled slot for you. If this is unacceptable, please make other arrangements.
  • Parents Night Out-Ages 4-12

    The Monticello HS Interact Club would like to offer parents a night off.  From 5:30-8:30 PM parents can sign up to have the children ages 4-12 entertained while they get to do something of their choice.  That could include quiet time at home, date night, meeting up with some friends or whatever you would like to do for 3 hours without the kids.  While your are enjoying your time, your children will be playing gym games, doing crafts, maybe watching a movie or other fun activities led by our Interact students.  We will have a light snack for the children who attend.  Please make sure that they have dinner before they come.  Registration is required.Donations will be accepted and they will go to the Interact Club to help fund future community service projects.Sign up early, space is limited.

  • Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre - Beauty and the Beast

    Registration is open to students ages 7-17. All students who register will be assigned a part. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. Audition’s for the various parts will be held on Monday, January 20 at 4:15 p.m. in the Middle School Auditorium. The audition process lasts up to 2 hours. Students are required to be in attendance the entire time. A portion of the cast will be required to stay for a short rehearsal following the auditions. Rehearsals will be held from 4:15-8:30 p.m. the remainder of the week. Students are responsible for attending ALL rehearsals, NO exceptions! Transportation will be provided from the elementary schools on Tuesday-Friday.The performance dates are set for Friday, January 24 at 7 p.m. & Saturday, January 25 at 10 a.m. Monticello Middle School Auditorium Ticket prices are $4 for adults and $2 for students and are available at the door.OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

    Let the Games begin! Designed by the experts at M.I.T., LEGO WeDo Robotics’ unique system teaches students about simple machines, engineering, programming, and so much more. Students will be taught foundational building and introduced to programming concepts with learning about the Sensors, Motors, and Special Technics components.Working in small teams, students will build and program smart robots, based on popular games: Angry Birds, Chutes and Ladder, Hockey, Just Dance, Pinball, Duck Hunt and more! Please bring a drink & snack.

    Snowmobile Safety ClassMonticello Trailblazers Snowmobile ClubThe Monticello Trailblazers Snowmobile Club is offering a DNR certified youth snowmobile safety class on December 14.  Check in starts at 8:30am, class runs 9:00am-2:00pm at the Mies Outland in St. CLoud. Pre-registration is required for the class. To pre-register please visit the Monticello Community Education website https://monticello.ce.eleyo.com/ and search class #F19-1174. After pre-registering, please complete an online safety course found at http://dnr.state.mn.us/safety/vehicle/snowmobile/i...  The online course must be completed and voucher must be printed off prior to coming to class.The day of the class each Attendee must bring at least 1 parent or legal guardian to register all paper work needed to attend the class. Each parent or legal guardian will be asked to attend the class for the first segment of the class which will last about a half hour. Once the first segment is finished parents that choose to leave can do so at that time. This class will last about a total of 5 hours depending on how many attendees register.We encourage all parents to help support safe riding practices before and during all snowmobile activities. Parents are welcome to stay and participate during the safety class. Parents are also welcome to stay and help with the class. Please be available to pick up your child or children when class is out.Things each attendee will need to have for the class:$10.00 for supplies and also pop and rolls will be provided—due Monticello Community Education at the time of registration.   • Teen Defensive Driving & Car Control Course

    The student, up to age 22, will be using his/her own vehicle to undergo advanced driving training to handle adverse conditions and emergency driving situations. Using a progressive teaching method with a 1:1 student- to-instructor ratio, the student will learn how to control skids, emergency stops while switching lanes or even while cornering, emergency lane switching, vehicle dimensions and dynamics influencing its control. About 25% classroom, 75% driving. The earlier good driving habits are learned, the better. Requirements: Driver’s permit or license and a minimum of 10 hours of driving experience.
