    Horseback Riding Day Camp, Ages 6-15

    Boulder Pointe Equestrian Camps are on rain or shine! There is an outdoor and indoor arena. Proper attire includes a sneaker or boot (closed toe with a heel), long pants and layers depending on the weather. Bug spray, sunscreen, nut-free snacks and a water bottle are also recommended. Please bring a nut-free bagged lunch and plenty of fluids to drink. ASTM/SEI certified helmets are provided. Signed waivers are required before riding. Riding Day Camp (Ages 6-15) TIME: PARENT Drop-off is at 9am and PARENT pickup is 3pm. Sorry we do not allow parents to stay for the day. WHAT TO EXPECT: Kids will learn what it's like to have a horse for a day! Campers get to ride in the indoor and/or outdoor arenas for 40min-50min (no trails), practice how to steer, stop, turn, and walk on their own. They also might make horse treats, do a craft, and play games. And don't forget the time to meet and care for the horses, which is a big part of ownership! Campers are broken into smaller groups based on similar riding experience and age, which is perfect for both new and more experienced riders! WHAT DO CAMPERS NEED TO BRING? ● Long pants, closed toe shoes, appropriate clothes for weather inside and outside of barn. ● No flip flops. ● Sunscreen/hat/bug spray ● Water bottle/drinks/snacks and a lunch ● Treats for the horses if you want ● Helmets are provided.     MHS MontiArts Art Club is for 9-12th grade students who attend Monticello High School. It is a great opportunity for students who are looking to create a variety of art forms while being in the company of peers. Each week, students are encouraged to bring anything they are working on and many supplies will be available at no charge from MontiArts. (montiarts.com) There will be a variety of optional projects throughout the year (mural projects, mosaics, glow parade, etc) This activity takes place in the MontiArts Building (349 W Broadway) in downtown Monticello. A limited amount of spots are available via High School Bus #103. Please email me if your student will be using bus transportation. Bus 103 leaves with all buses at the end of the day from MHS. Students are encouraged to drive or find rides if possible/able.     Boulder Pointe Equestrian Enjoy the excitement of horseback riding camp! Come ride and learn about horses. Lessons include learning how to work with horse and learn balance and control in the saddle. In addition, campers get to learn how to groom, tack-up, lead and do in-hand work with horses. My Little Horse Day Camp for Ages 2-5 with Parent WHAT TO EXPECT: Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of our different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn about how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. :) PARENT/GUARDIAN: This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation.     The student, up to age 22, will be using his/her own vehicle to undergo advanced driving training to handle adverse conditions and emergency driving situations. Using a progressive teaching method with a 1:1 student- to-instructor ratio, the student will learn how to control skids, emergency stops while switching lanes or even while cornering, emergency lane switching, vehicle dimensions and dynamics influencing its control. About 25% classroom, 75% driving. The earlier good driving habits are learned, the better. Requirements: Driver’s permit or license and a minimum of 10 hours of driving experience.
